Russian Dolls and Steampunk?

well it's the 27th............

one of the dresses I got for christmas!!! XD I love it soooo much, it's bright and has russian dolls all over it!!! <3

heh I got my necklace for christmas too!! It's a tiger holding onto a gold mesh loop!

todays design based on the dress.........it's two flowers done using gold/blue/pink metallic Barry M, black eyeliner...............as you can see a little russian doll is lying in the middle of it..........sorry for the bad quality of the photo, I try to make them as visible as possible but my camera has hissy fits sometimes and cannot be controlled continuously.......

well it's a bit more visible from this distance :-S

ah yes.......this is another present I got.........I love rings and would wear one on each finger if I could, but I'm allergic to fake metal..........doesn't mean I stop buying them, but that means that a few of my rings I can only wear for a few days before having to revert back to just wearing my proper rings that are littered about my hands...........this is a foxy ring that I wanted ages ago but was told by my mother that I couldn't buy - the reason being that she had bought it for me for christmas so yeah I was really happy when I unwrapped this!! :) I love foxes, I know they're rather nasty by nature as they kill things just for fun but you have to admit they are beautiful and there's nothing more exciting when you're stranded somewhere very bored and spot one in the middle of a field...........

ah yes, my shopping for today :) for christmas my dear friend Ali bought me a book by Gail Carriger called Soulless - it's brilliant!! I literally picked it up and finished it in one night, so as I realised that I haven't had a book like that in years I went and bought the next two - Changeless and Blameless.........I read those in one day too =_=;;

Brotherhood I still haven't really picked up if I'm honest.............I'm still re-reading the Parasol Protectorate!! XD heh I've also pre-ordered Heartless which is the next book in the series.......I love Lord Akeldama and Biffy, Alexia is continuously amusing me, I feel sorry for everything Lyall is put through even if it is funny (poor old dog).........Major Channing has somehow grown on me.......at first I just thought he was one of those silly new characters that's put in for comedic value and then forgotten about but I was proven wrong in Blameless where suddenly he became a rather nice if egotistical character.........hmmmm, I need to do some fan art for this book! There's very little to live on at the moment......

Christmas and Boxing Day....

Ok, so this is a very LATE blog.......but in my defense this is the only one that I'd actually typed on the day, only to realise that without the days before I couldn't post it.........so yeah, it became late because I was unorganised........but yesh, this is what I typed after christmas and on boxing day......hope you like :)

Ok, so this is a two day blog.......as well, during christmas I only took a few pics as I ended up going over to my Uncles for Christmas dinner.......but yeah! So Christmas was extremely fun, hung out with the family and had a lot of nice presents as well as being really happy as everyone liked the christmas presents I bought them :)
Boxing Day was fun as well.......went round my nan's to see my uncle and to see if she liked her christmas presents, then had a coffee in town and went to the Albert across the road for dinner......was a nice day and I finally got a chance to play with my christmas presents!! XD

heh I love our christmas present lights......they make tthe day sooooo much more magical XD

loook loook!! I got two new troll beads from my aunt and uncle, which means my troll bracelet's now full!! Plus I got a new bracelet and 3 more beads from my mum, dad and nan......yay!! seriously this is going to get to the point of me having at least 5 bracelets down my arms!! ;)

Christmas treats..........believe me there's no way I'd get away with eating these any other time of the year, so I'm extremely happy.........yeah I have a sweet tooth, but I'm sure that doesn't matter much ^_^;; unless my family desided to get me pretty clothing for christmas - which they did - which would mean that I will have to starve myself of sweet things for a while in an attempt to not look like I pigged out during christmas........stranger things have happened I guess? eheh..........

Ah yes, it's our cats first christmas and he is now the creature that lives in the tree..........I was very fortunate today as I caught him leaving his tree cave to see what wrapping paper is.......also he got some christmas presents which he absolutely adores, who knew cats like little balls that make noises?

heh I should make a 'Where's Garfield?' book.......he's very good at camouflage.......

Ok, well admittedly this coat doesn't suit me........but it's the warmest flipping thing that I own and I'm going up to Harwich to visit and have dinner with my aunt, uncle and cousins..........currently in Harwich it is freezing with a lot of ice and frankly hypothermia weather...........

the design is made to match the dress that I'm wearing which has pearl beads looping round each other on the shoulders and round the neck........so I copied and made my own version of that using silver glitter eyeliner, black eyeliner, metallic gold Barry M eyeliner and black eyeshadow that I got for christmas from the new Tartan range in MAC in Williams and Griffins :)

Right.................well that's all for christmas photo's I'm afraid!! So on to Boxing Day!!! XD

Well, I acutally got to play and dismantle my christmas present pile...........I got Cataclysm (WoW) special shiny pack :-3, ipad, and some Microsoft Points for my Xbox 360 addiction :)

So for Boxing day because I was in a classical mood and was wearing a fairly victorian looking dress and my old fashioned medal turned necklace that I bought off a market in the middle of nowhere with my orchestra........so yeah, it's all curly and William Morris looking but I like it and it's shiny! :)

well here's the dress, it was a christmas present and I must say I love it!! XD

yeah, before venturing round my nans for the traditional Happy Christmas/Boxing Day greeting my mum caught me off guard with my little dog Tiny - I'm sure she won't mind me telling you that she's currently 9 years old or in dog years 63........so yeah, definitely the elder of our household and the boss of my little cat who isn't even 1 yet.......

new earrings for christmas, I love presents they're always so sparkly and the sort of things that you'd never find yourself but wish you could find on a daily basis!

Me round my nans having a good old cup of tea........I got her Scotty dog slippers and a vintage cigarette case with a mirror inside........she loved the cigarette case, but hadn't realised the scotty dogs were slippers so she had them sticking out from under her table as cute little teddies.......when she tried them on however (when I'd explained! ^_^) she absolutely loved them and reminded me of how short she is...........

oh yesh, speaking on height! I've discovered that both my nans who were taller than me for a great many years (no not just when I was 10) have shrunk! and with my mum already quite short.......well, there's not much hope there.......but I'm an actual descent height for a girl, but with this startling sign that there's an apparent height problem with the women in my family I've realised that I will end up either the height of my mum or worse.......not happy.....

thought I'd best show you an actual pic of my cat seeing as he looked like a little monster under the tree earlier on in the blog..........isn't he pretty? everyone in my family keep calling him a she......he doesn't mind though, as long as we keep feeding him and making sure there's somewhere for him to sleep he's quite happy being called anything.........

Chrischringle and Christmas Eve

Yeah........so I'm finally on the 24th ^_^;; heh funny how these things catch up on ya huh?

So yeah.......normally my christmas eve's are pretty normal, go into town for lunch and possible coffee (even though when I was little I didn't drink coffee I had hot chocolate or tea).....then back home for christmas movies and a chinese takeaway followed by a lot of chocolate and mince pies - yeah, we normally feel quite sick after a while but it's sooooooo worth it! :-P
But yeah, so this year was different.......I got invited out for lunch with my friends at China Blue, then walked my Fables 3 Xbox 360 game over to Piran's so he could borrow it and then - and this is the strangest part - I went to church to sing hymns and light a Chrischringle with my mum and nan.......I realise christmas is a time to be religious and go to church, but I've never followed that particular part (I am Church of England and do believe in God, I've just never gone to church on Christmas Eve before)......but I've got to say that it did seem like a really nice thing to do and the Chrischringle made a lot of sense..........although I do think that you need to be a teenager or perhaps nearer my age for it to work (no offence to the mothers of the very young children but they seriously weren't interested, they just wanted to do whatever was more amusing and would then cry when their respective parent told them off or stopped them because they were meant to be singing or listening - the only reason I feel for these children is that I still remember carol concerts and they are SOOOOOO boring as a child, they still are even at this age but also at this age you realise how much more it means and you just get on with it)

Anyway, on with the blog before I bore you to death..........which wouldn't be good I'm told!

Firstly this is a Chrischringle..........the orange is meant to be the world, the red ribbon (or tape in this case) is the sins of the world, the fruit and sweets on sticks are the fruits of the world and the candle is meant to represent Christ (or the light of the world) the light of the world who died to take away our sins.........if any of that is slightly off, this is off the top of my head from the service so don't hesitate to tell me I'm wrong!!

ok, so this is from the lunch......yeah, I was just finishing and stitching up a gift (a very late gift) for some friends of mine.......heh the twit on the left of me is Luke Cater a long suffering friend......

ooooooh, it's christingle?? woops...........

this was how I looked today.......yeah, I was really interested in going to church NOT! but I did get into it when I was there, I was just kinda dreading it as I walked up to the church and I was late!! Which meant that in my head I'd be walking past all these people in the middle of hymns (ok so I stereotyped it in my head out of paranoia, but I'd really never done it before!), but luckily everyone else was still walking in, the service was just a few explanations on why this event happened every year and then very well known carols and hymns were sung which was brilliant as they were all the ones that I really love to sing but that no choir will ever let me sing NORMALLY!! There's always some old version with trills and modulation and some sort of alto part that meant I had to sing it as if I was a moon martian which is impossible as a martian is from mars and not the moon but you get my drift.......so yeah, it was actually fun..........

Lit Christingle..........is it bad that I had to go up the page and check the spelling again before typing it?!

Plus, see how I look? Well when I walked into the service everyone looked at me like I was a masked hoodlum that was going to steal everything, until I reached my mum and nan - then everyone looked at me like I was the black sheep of the family..........it was funny!

yeah, the children went up first.......so I was standing with toddlers, I did make the priesty person laugh though as in all seriousness I asked whether I was young enough to be defined as a child while taking one from him - he didn't answer me but he did laugh which I will take as a good thing seeing as normally I sound extremely sarcastic and everyone looks at me like I've just said something positively taboo..... 

after the christingle bit where you sing in the dark with this thing alight............well you blow it out, the lights come on and a few more songs are sung.........

ah this should be up there somewhere, this was my nan getting one........the only way she'd let me post a pic of her was if it was a blurry one, well thankyou for the loophole!

ah yes, the lighting of the tree of light............only problem with this title, if it's the tree of light why was it not lit? heh anyway, I know for a fact that we payed for 10 of those lights......so it was quite cool seeing it all bright and shiny :)

oh yeah, guess what came in the post!!! XD heh but yeah, this isn't it......it's one of the free things that she sent me as well........sooooooo cute!! X3

Golden Blossom

Right well Thursday 23rd..........where everyone was back and decided to go out for pubbage...........was a lot of fun and I actually bumped into more people that I knew from Sixth Form than people from uni, but nevermind.................

Todays design is a golden blossom...........the entire outline is black, then coloured with metallic gold/blue/pink Barry M and then for the green as I've run out of anything with a definite colour I used green mascara and spread it in the leaves with a green glitter eyeliner.......as you can see it works!

The design is taken from a cape I have, that I was wearing in the morning.......of course I changed for my blue dress in the evening for pubbage but it has no pattern on it so the blossom design was left........

luckily it actually went with what I was wearing tonight!! XD

the necklace I'm wearing is a looking glass with a victorian feel to it......I think it's from accesorize, but I won't pry as I love it and I'm not particularly bothered where it's from.......it was a christmas present given to me by my friend Tom, he also got me a mug covered in rose prints but I'll post a pic of that another time.......

and here's my velvet coat that I was wearing tonight.........with all my lovely badges on the left towards the shoulder.......I love this coat, it's shoulder pads and definite buttons look brilliant with my boots and dark colours :)

My dear friend Nikki who escaped London for a few days until after christmas.........she also managed to go back to London without giving me the christmas present that she kept telling me about, which was rather funny as she was the one who reminded me to bring her present to pubbage :-P

Piran.............now when I showed him this picture he gave me specific instructions that if he ever went missing that this should be the picture used to identify him............he then said that he looked like the person that would've kidnapped him in this picture........confusing conversation really...........

yes, well...........nikki decided to take control of my phone and I allowed her to under a few conditions

1)No using my facebook status for mischief

2)No changing the language, as it took me a week last time

3)She would have to buy me a drink of my choice!

Anyway, she stopped me outside Artasia near the Playhouse for a quick photo with christmas lights :)

Really this should be before the last photo........also this has reminded me that I need to get a camera with flash when I'm out at night..........anyway, I promised I'd do this for them the poor little things - on the left is Jake Gunn who took Foundation art with me and is now studying Graphic Design, on the right is Cameron Griffiths who is now sporting a cruella Deville look with his hair but then again who am I to talk with all my colours ;-P

Anyway, was a good catch up and I discovered that they'd been following this..........sorry it took me so long, but there ya go! Hope you both have a fab New Year!!!

Ah definitely the Marquis.......this was where we all started and met, I love the barstaff here - the girl behind the bar makes the best cocktails and I'm rather ashamed to say that although she knows my name I can never remember hers oops ^_^;;

Well that should be it.................with a fab night and not a lot spent thanks to the fact that whenever someone went to get a drink I asked for a drink as well...........actually I tell a lie! I bought 5 drinks, with only one of them being for me........so heh, a very good night and catch up indeed!
