Really late update on current stop

Hello........

well if you have been enjoying my blog, or just found it and have followed it out of curiousity and interest then I thankyou..........I also find myself currently apologising to you, not only for lack of information on why I have not been updating everyday but also for not blogging everyday as I wanted......

Currently I'm afraid life has caught up with me and my work as ever has grown to a demanding pile that I can not really avoid anymore or deal with in small amounts at a time. This blog is important to me, but if I cannot complete my work then I will be causing myself a lot of problems..........

so for now, there will only be the occasional catch up post for the days during february and the start of march that I believe I'm late with.........unfortunately half way through March I had to stop my face art to tackle my work and until June or hopefully earlier if I work hard, I will not be doing any new face art......

This is really annoying for me as this had become a little ritual that I really enjoyed doing, but with the hours that I'm currently working and the pieces I have to complete I just can't keep up with it......
Again, I will be updating what I'm missing for February and March - so no worries there!

I'll put in a post when my face art blogs will continue, so please view if I've updated!!

I'm really sorry and I hope you'll understand and keep following my blog as I attempt my mark of 365 days.........

Skullpatch

ok.........so this is the post for the 9th of February?? I believe it is!! :-D huzzah!

so yeah............I had a secret mission today where I had to go an find a gift that my father had planned on giving to my mother for valentines day, he couldn't make it into to town and was worried they sell out hence why I was sent with money for this extra special mission....................

funnily enough it was a success and was a very pretty present............

Todays theme was patches and a skull that glitters............shame there's no deep meaning to this, but it does look cool and well yeah it actually suits me :)

rather less flattering picture of myself that my mother took as she found out I had a gift for her but wouldn't show her...........so um........yeah, blame her as I was having a kinda, you know what something my uncle said just annoyed me and so my annoyed face turned up, which when mixed with my baggy top and the deep sinking chairs makes me look an utter state!

well here's a hint as to what it was that my mum was getting :) yes that's right!! my mum has a troll bracelet like me!!

Well she has one, which my dad got her for christmas..........I managed to fill up my one from my birthday, so I actually got a second bracelet for christmas which is still far too empty........graaaaaa!!! Still that only means I now need more trollbeads yay!! :)

ah yes the ever wonderous box that mum REALLY wanted to open when I met her for coffee..........heh I was instructed by dad to get her a bead that was heart shaped or had a heart theme............luckily they had this really pretty silver bead that was a beautiful little heart.........simple but lovely plus everytime mum looks at it she'll remember it was from dad on valentines day........so the perfect gift!!

Mission so epic win completed!! XD

so my rather klimpt-ish design is close to the first one I made way back when! But with differences so this is a brand new one, plus the skull helps, the colours are altered too...........

silver glitter eyeliner that is turning pearlised for some unknown reason, blue eyeliner mixed with blue eyeshadow, bronze eye shadow, gold glitter eyeliner, purple glitter eyeliner and black eyeliner................

very fun design to draw, although admitedly it takes a tad bit longer than others I've done because well you have to wait for your eyelid to dry so you don't stick your eyes open...........believe me it can happen =_=;;

So yeah...........rather strange day, especially as I dropped off a gift I made for a friend of mine........

oh yes, I had to post this..............um ages ago I bought this sock creature book and well yeah I really got into it! So ow I can make loads of wierd but cute looking critters for my friends from what I learned from this book............anyway, recently a friend of mine has discovered she's gonna have a baby and well I decided to make it a toy.............

so here is Mr. Stripes, who is the plainest design I have ever stitched by hand, but is bright coloured and has such long limbs that he'll be easy for the little boy/girl to drag around as they grow up!

he has lips and a tail............like I said children like to drag their toys around, so long limbs and tails and ears are the best things for them as frankly anyway of making sure it follows them is better than it being left on the floor somewhere..............

I hope he/she likes stripes, I can't imagine what'll happen when 'it' can talk and I end up saying yeah.......that thing that's falling apart? I made it............wow that's gonna be wierd O_O;;

heh, mum get's REALLY bored or else she really wanted to see what was in the box.........she cooked an entire make shift indian/chinese meal for us...........while with her sickly tummy she only had a pizza..........altogether now, AWWWWWWWW!!! <3

so yeah..............a fun packed day of random looking like a badly dressed mystic from a fiction, ninja mission on the valentine front for dad and the creation of Mr. Stripes...............

hope that's alright for everyone.........

Blossoms and Steampunk

Ok, so 15 days have gone past..........I think, but yeah.........so um, sorry this is once again lagging behind but what can I say? Life is life and it's never a dull day........except on those actual dull days where you have nothing to do, which recently I have!! XD

So yeah, I shall endeavor to catch up with these 15 days that I have so far been unable to upload.......

In further news..........it's my birthday on the 23rd, which is quite cool but means I need to catch up with this quickly as I don't want to be spending my birthday going through LOADS of days worth of imagery when I could be typing up an epic celebration of how old I'm becoming! Wow, that makes me sounds ancient.......
but yeah, I'm not! So um..........ok..........awkward rants aren't normally this awkward in my head =_=;; oops...................

So todays post is from the 8th....................the design is two golden blossoms that are based once again on my lovely cape/coat thingy that's from Topshop..........I wanted the effect of a falling vine of them........

it's black eyeliner, with gold/pink/blue metallic Barry M............I'm not sure if the flowers actually look alright or not, but the leaves behind them definitely help!! hmmm.........shame I can't find any close up pics, if I do then I'll post them in a later one so you can see what I mean!

today was also the day that I went to get my hair re-bleached so I could colour my fringe again...........which is why this picture has a more........um, un-looked after fringe than the picture above...........see here I was having coffee before the appointment............the top picture is taken after my visit to the hairdressers.............

oh yeah!! LOOOOOOOOOOK!!!! XD

I found this in Neo Magazine, it's an exhibition by Dr A going on in Bath from the 1st of April all the way through the month!! My friend Coral the mad genius is up there at the moment, so I'm planning a trip up to

a) go see this and get to meet Dr. A

b) visit Coral as I still haven't and finally.....

c) to collect my christmas/birthday gift off of the mad genius.....

Bird Skull and Rose........

Right well..........saturday was fun, seeing as Nikki's back we had a girls night out and went for a few drinks.........and for once in my life, she was the one late............so, as the lovely sport that she is Nikki bought us a pitcher of Laguna Peach to share which was mega-utter-awesome-win!

That meant that we LOVE Laguna Peach cocktails, so please don't ask what that means.......

but yeah, so I bought the next pitcher which was a Sex On The Beach........which we both agreed was very pineapple-y and not nice after a Laguna Peach...........

so after all that and struggling through crowds of teens staring at us for not wearing anything above our hips, well we left for Straws...........

struggling in our heels, we took a few stops and had a look in the Playhouse...........

But Playhouse was PACKED so we went on one of our walks - which is where Nikki and I will walk all over colchester just talking and catching up about everything until we hit Culver, where we then sit on the fountain and continue the talk until either we're too cold or we remember where we were meant to be going......

in Straws Nikki bought me a Donut - which is a shot of Chambourd and cream and herself a Tequila Gold..........which we then followed with two donuts each........we did get some strange looks from this group of people infront of us, but then they carried a tray of 50 shots to their table......at that point we gave them the funny look, I mean there were only a few of them and I'm pretty sure they'd drunk quite a lot before that......

well after that we went for another of our trademark walks ......

which led us to McDonalds where I got a Diet Coke as I didn't fancy going to another pub and Nikki got an Orange........although she wanted a milkshake........I'm still not sure why she didn't get one >_<;;

anyway..........after that we were once again in Culver and after watching the fifth group of teen couples pass we decided to walk back to mine............

yeah, I changed to flats to walk home.......still not entirely sure I was that sober.......and I feel this photo only confirms that :-S

this was my design for today.........a bird skull surrounded by thorns from a rose.......

it turned out really well and every bouncer who checked my ID had to comment on the fact that I now had a tattoo.............I know that's not a spectacular result - but for it to look like that even though the skull was glittery, well that was a flipping pat on the back for me!

so yeah, black eyeliner, silver glitter eyeliner and Pink Metallic Barry M.........

I really liked this design......I think I might use the bird skull again for something else.........

wow...........I look CREEPY!!! O_O;;

Oh yeah, I had to post this........a funny pose that I for some reason did..........makes me look evil or like I'm dancing to Thriller........you're choice really, but either work =_=;;

Cousin's Birthday and an owl

Right well this is for friday.......basically I had my cousin's 17th birthday to go too.......

now my cousin Jack is a 17th year old boy........what the heck do you get one of them?!?!

Well luckily I had the sense to get him what my brother and myself would think is cool and amazingly that worked!! XD

heh, I ended up getting him a 'DC Comics' wallet with all the old comics printed on the inside and a plain blue outside.........I'm glad he liked it, but man I'm worried about his 18th.....if I struggled with this then imagine that!!

Still, at least buying for my little brother is easy........and I have the joy of going 'that's my little brother' with pride whenever I get him something cool and he uses it! :-D

hmmm..........other than Nando's we also went to Smith's Bar which is awesome..........but yeah.......I got a lot of drunken looks from people who decided that obviously I had no idea what had been placed on my face.............

so yeah.........let's see how I looked!

strangely basic look going on, but the party was in Nando's so you don't have to look spectacularly well dressed for that :)

Besides I love this jumper dress........wore it with my pearls, little leather kicker boots with studded belts round them.......and my mum's rose scalf.....

ah yes........because of the owl on the dress, I decided to show a kind of.........um........I don't actually know...........it's kind of like one of those mythological images where they're showing some sort of creature or person who's important to the tale............anyway, it's the silhouette of an owl on the hunt, with a sun-like image behind it.........I really love how this turned out, although I got a lot of looks from drunk passers by and quite a few "What the heck happened to you?" but meh, I like it :)

believe it or not the owl and the circle were the easiest part of this......working out how to do the swirls and waves without them looking pathetic was really difficult =_=;;

so here's how I look to people looking me in the eye............

Next time I'll probably wear more necklaces.........still I'm glad I wore the scalf, as I really don't like how round necks look on me and the scalf makes it a bit better ^_^

so that was my night.............hope it was worth the wait and heck, if it wasn't then hopefully my face art was..........maybe :-S

100th Face art and Fish

Ok, well...........dare I say this is the 100th drawing I've done on my face? Why yes, I do!!

I'm really pleased.........I mean, when I started this I thought wow 365 now that would be cool..........I then started it and realised just how impossible that number seems sometimes when I have to think about what I'll do next............but thankfully after hitting my 100th drawing :-D I've realised I just have 265 days left!!

Anyway, let's get started with todays post..........

 

had to post this...........looking at the roses today and all of them have nearly had it and will have to be changed but there's still one that's full of life and was rather beautiful when the light hit it..........so here's a quick pic I took...........

So todays theme was based around blue.......and after Chinese New Year yesterday I thought I should do something based loosely around that, as I've already done a year of the rabbit design..........

but yeah, wearing my Darling dress in blue, my belted boots, pearl necklace, my little magnifying necklace and my heart necklace that my little brother bought me as a birthday present once........I'm a bit ashamed actually as I haven't been able to find it since after Christmas and according to my mum my little brother had to save a lot of his money before he could buy it for me :) which obviously makes me go awwww and makes me run about the house like a headless chicken trying to find it..........so you can imagine how happy I was when I found it today!

Well here we are..........in a kind of Chinese-ish theme and blue of course..........here's a little attempt at a fish swimming......the idea was to make it look like it had been done in ink, like the ones you get in the old drawings...........because I coloured in the water the fish sticks out more :)

I used black eyeliner and a metallic turquoise glitter eyeliner.........the turquoise matches my shimmer eyeshadow from Benefit so it makes it seem like he has swam quite a way.........heh I'm glad it turned out how it did, as I was worried it would look a bit silly seeing as I've never drawn a fish this well........normally I make do with the whole drawing a teardrop on its side with a triangle at the end, so this really is an achievement........

Well I'm glad I bothered to count my designs, as I think this little guy deserves to be the 100th as I'm Pisces and it will be my brithday on the 23rd so the fish is fairly important to me! But keeping with the theme of the Chinese Zodiac, I'm also a goat...........so if I do some strange mix of farmyard meets ocean on my face on the 23rd, do forgive me as funnily enough I have a tendency to go over board as any child does on their birthday :-P

Well ladies and Gent's...........that's all for today..............once again, not a spectacularly interesting post..........but the art is good, the idea definitely entertaining, the rants continuous and the posting late........so what more could you ask for?

the Key Tree

Ok so this is2nd February.........but REALLY REALLY LATE!! sorry :)

Anyway, met Lydia for a walk about today and then went to Noodle Bar for dinner.........

ok, so my dear friend Lydia took the photo's today so they have a fairly artistic quality to them........meaning I wasn't looking at the camera at most moments or if I was it wasn't focused :-P

Anyway the design was a key that turned into a tree with a bird flying a way from it's key tree.......the only problem is that the key part just looks like ornate roots =_=;; nevermind, there's always next time where I can try this again..........

see? It vaguely looks like a key........but more like an ornate tree from a Brothers Grimms book........so we'll just say that it's meant to look that way :-P

So here I am today with my key necklace that gave me the idea and my top from H&M that has a tree silhouette on it...........

Ta da!! Tis the tree and the key that inspired me :)

and here is Miss Lydia herself...........heh we did look a pair today on the high street ^_^

basically it reminds me of the bag that I used to take to my primary school when I was really little.........really tempted to get one again as they're really sturdy and just lovely to have on your shoulder.........also they're a bag, which normally helps......sometimes.........

ah yes, as an apology for the shortness of this post and for the quickness in which it was typed here is my cat once again attempting to stop the balls from being potted =_=;;

I promise tomorrow I'll fill it out with everything that happened, but I'm up early tomorrow so I need to crash and try to get some sleep before the morning............

Vines and prints

1st of February

Well today I had nothing to do for the morning as I was meeting my mum in town for coffee in the afternoon.......was really nice as my nan turned up too, but yeah for the morning I was basically kicking about the house with my dog fast asleep next to the raidiator and not moving and my cat following me like a lost sheep and then disappearing to sleep next to windows or on rather unbalanced piles of objects around the house...........

so todays theme was based around green, as the dye in my fringe is pityfully trying to survive and really only the green is succeeding.......also my roots are starting to show where my fringe has grown out slightly, reminding me that my natural hair colour is basically black =_=;; is it bad that I forgot that?

I honestly thought it was a dark brown colour...........meh, nevermind! Also my jumper thing is meant to be rainbowy but is mostly green............so yeah, pretty much a green theme going on today.....

So I drew some vines with grape leaves twirling down from my eye...........

so here I am in my jumper thing from TopShop that swamps me but keeps me warm........with my chunky bead necklace that gradually gets bigger beads towards the bottom......

it's funny actually as I was really happy today, but looking outside Loofers at all the people in Colchester walking by - I realised something.........the people in colchester recently are really moody looking.......whether it's because of the rain today (it normally rains, so really they should be used to it!) or because it feels like Winter ALL OVER AGAIN! (literally feels like it's going to snow again =_=;; )

everyone looked thoroughly blocked out - meaning everyone was wearing VERY dark colours

and everyone looked thoroughly depressed.........

but yeah, so there were a few who had some brightness about them......mostly girls though.......I saw one with Bright red hair, one with a shocking pink fringe and this one girl who looked like a traveller from a fantasy novel.......I count that as a good thing but I doubt she'd wish to hear that :-S

ok...........so the vine is pretty basic, just black eyeliner and some green glitter eyeliner......

the tricky part is get the vine to thin out and not fade.........so be warned if anyone attempts this O_O;;

heh see.......I also have Blue metallic by Barry M eyeliner on the underneath of my eye and fake lash, it's strange as close up it looks cool, far away it looks cool but normal talking distance makes me look all tired and weird looking :(

Oh yeah, so this is proof that I didn't eat anything...............

ONLY KIDDING!! heh as everyone who knows me by now would tell you, it's a normal occurance to take a photo of me eating.......luckily this photo was taken before I'd actually decided on eating anything, but yeah Humous and Pitta in Loofers is awesome so that was my lunch for today! :) Just incase you wondered :-P

Ok, so yeah as I said I basically did nothing this morning so I ended up going through some old work from last year...........I really need to throw some stuff out, but in the midst of all that I found some photos of this work that I did as a laugh and because I became obsessed with print last year.........

so yeah, I actually looked into wallpaper and made my own.........this was a patch of a first attempt, so it's not perfect but then again I didn't want them to be perfect........all of them are hand stamped using a lino cutting that I designed...........

decided to try it actually on a wall...........turns out it's a lot of work to do this and it would have been a lot easier if I'd made it for a screen print as then I could have also made more than one print at a time.........but yeah, you need to experiment to learn what to do :)

wanted to see how it would look in colour........the black and white looks really old fashioned and these came out rather.........um...........story book-ish I guess?

heh, I ended up using the wallpaper I'd made to display these random pieces of work that I'd done.......my styles changed a lot since this, but I'm still proud of it........

this was one of my favourites...........I really love doing cross hatching drawings in ink, this is a photocopy of one of my drawings that I then carried on the lines to create a kind of stitched effect.........

I really liked how this turned out and it's rather strange when you look at it as it feels like the lines are threads pulling the image out of it's casing in the frame.......

some more odd little pieces that I'd stuck up.......the one of the left was an attempt to see and image within an image........the hand worked brilliantly but the white lines needed to be thinner........

so this was my little patch of a surreal victorian residence that was my working space.........eventually I had to take it all down, but I had really wanted to play with a semi installation where I'd create half a stair case at the bottom of the wall and probably a few inches of a table with half a lamp stuck onto the wall as well......

Shame I didn't really as it would've been fun and I feel it would have made a marvelous picture.......

Still, this was a great success and I'm pondering on turning it into a card or post card of some sort now that I've found it again..........

Alice in Wonderland

Monday 31st January

Ok, sooooooooo..................all of last week was utter shut down on my life, as I stayed at home and just worked on my art for deadline........

Meaning I have nothing to show you for last week.......sorry, but my art is really important to me and I want to do well in it...............like I said last time, my deadlines are far apart and only happen once a year BUT they will happen, so as long as I keep up to date and keep posting PLEASE don't abandon me just because I miss a few days during a deadline............otherwise, if a few days are late then I was either away somewhere or ill - meaning they'll still be done and posted within a few days..........

Right, so after that small informational - here's today!

today I got to hang out with my friend Nikki, who works in London most of the time so I basically never see her anymore! So when she gets weeks or the occassional weekend off and comes down to Colchester, we normally attempt a small catch up.........

 here I am looking decidedly stupid, sitting in Nero's with dear Nikki filling my camera with 10 pics of this one picture because she thought it'd be funny =_=;;

first off, I did have a really nice picture of her.......not that this doesn't look nice! But she does look like a zombie here, anyway she decided to delete the pictures of her........so this is her punishment, as I wasn't able to save any other picture of her!

she REALLY looks bored with me ^_^;;

yeah, I look fairly insane............it was really funny as well, as earlier Nikki and I went to get lunch and we were both asked to show our ID as Nikki was getting a drink of something.........yeah, my ID looks nothing like me! It is me!! But it was me before I cut my hair and curled it, also the picture was taken when I didn't really wear a lot of make up......so my picture looks like this really normal quiet girl, heh so the woman kept looking up at me and down at my ID again and again.......kind of reminds me of when I have to show my passport to people in the airport =_=;; everyone's a comdian!

So yeah, I had to explain that I'd changed my look a bit since it was taken........luckily she understood and thankfully it was without the comment that I normally get in the airports, where all security think it's funny to say that 'women always change their looks, but yours is a bit extreme' =_=;;

today was Alice in Wonderland themed, mainly because I was wearing my mad hatter necklace and ring again from Disney Couture...........so yeah, this is basically my attempt at copying the illustration onto my face........I don't think I did it well enough, so yeah.......but at least I gave it a go! ^_^

Nikki commented on how plain it looked............so I think next time I need to add some colour to it to make it look right.......maybe :-S

ok, well I found thursday's picture..........which is a fairly bad try at a Repo! image, but at least I tried.........heh you can tell I'm starting to feel the effects of 2 hours sleep every night as I look dreadful! XD

meant to be Repo Man, who comes to reposses the organs of those in debt to GeneCo and who can't pay back their debts.............

ah yeah................I feel bad for missing out a week, so as an apology I will be doing the 7 designs that I had come up with for that week and posting them.........I'd worked out exactly what I'd wanted to do everyday last week, but like I said with my work it was just impossible to go through with them.........so yeah, keep an eye out as they should be up here during this week.......... :-D

here's some of the work I was doing for my deadline, thought I'd show you some particular pieces that took some time to do...........this is based on Max Ernst (?) who used Victorian etchings and illustration to make surreal collages that looked almost real............I love his work and made my own collages, but rather than leaving them I then drew from them using charcoal..........hope you like them!

as you can see the one above is where I started and this is how it grew..........I didn't have time to take a pic of this complete, but this was one of my favourites once I'd finished it :)

oh yeah!!! My cat has discovered that he likes playing snooker and pool...........but he doesn't see the point in potting the balls...........

yeah, everytime one of the balls fell in he tried to find and rescue it as his favourite toys are balls...........I had to post this pic as it was soooo funny when he did this, he didn't hurt himself by the way, he easily got his head back out he didn't get stuck and I did not force him to do this!! So no animal rights-ing me, as I did nothing to him and he was rather pleased that he now knows where the balls go! ^_^
