Flowers.....

Well here's today's post :)

Had to post this, the roses keep collecting rain and with the sudden frost and cold they've frozen and look beautiful!! :) So I had to post a pic for everyone to see <3

Well here I am for today.....silk dress, grey net top from Topshop, belt from Topshop, metalic necklace that belonged to my great grandparents, my military cardigan, jeans from Dot P's and my military boots....

Here are the flowers that I copied for my face design.....

Tada!! heh I really liked how these turned out......they're a bit brighter than the ones on my dress and bigger in size, but they definitely matched the look........

yeah, I put petals on my eyelid too....

Not an extremely interesting day today...............I got some Christmas shopping done, as HMV have a new StationtoStation album out by David Bowie with limited edition pictures and Live recordings in that I've got for my dad......in all honesty I really wanted it, but my dad is a huge Bowie fan and the one who got me into David Bowie at a young age (well he got me into the music and the Labrynth movie by Jim Henson just made me go yep Bowie's awesome - and ever since then I've been a huge fan!)
Also had to do some shopping for my brother as he wanted to get my mum a clutch from River Island but didn't want to actually buy it......so I was sent on a mission with his money to buy it for him......
So yeah, good, calm, drink free day! ^_^;;

Hope you liked

Pubbage and Art Deco

Saturdays post.....
Well today was.......um yeah, it was a normal saturday really.......got my comics, had coffee and lunch with my family......slight twist though I got to go out for drinks with my  mum and dad as I haven't gone on a pub crawl with them in AGES!!! XD

Here I am in the morning.........heh I actually love this t-shirt dress that I'm wearing, I got it ages ago from French Connection.....My necklace is a Steampunk work, Grey net top is from Topshop......

Here's the design for today......it's to match my dress as you have all these colours and shapes in the dress......apparently it looks art deco, which now that I'm looking at it from a photo I can agree with but when I had it on my face I just kept thinking 'is it?'

Yeah the design is on the eyelid as well.......it's actually really easy to do stuff like this, I don't know if you remember what I told you about black eyeliner a while ago - but if you cover it in black eye shadow while wet it doesn't break or crack.....the glittery colours such as the yellow, purple and silver were achieved by first filling the shapes with the eye shadow colour and then spreading the glitter eyeliner or glitter eye make up (both wet) over the colour - this makes the colour stronger and the effect last a heck of a lot longer......incase you fancy trying this??

from a distance it looks quite sci-fi if I'm honest........it was fun to do and very easy as it is all shapes.....I got a lot of compliments from random people in the pubs we visited that night as well.......

So yeah, here I am whole.......I actually changed out of this into a black dress with big poofy arms for the pubbage, but I kept my make up the same as the design was pretty......

The night out with my parents was a good laugh, we started out in the Kings Arms, then Roberto's, onto the Bull where we stayed to listen to a very good band, then tried for *Used to be Edwards but has changed its name sooo many times I now can't be bothered to remember it* but the line was too long as it was late and everyone was trying to get in =_=;; so instead we went to Smith's which was cool although they didn't have any Tia Maria :(
Heh, Oh yeah that doesn't make any sense does it? I'm a Gin or Tia Maria drinker basically (Or in the Edwards place occassionally a cocktail drinker too!) But I like Tia Maria and Diet Coke or Gin and Diet Coke, although it can't be Gordon's as it's too dry for my liking.....then again Gordon's and Slim line Tonic is lovely :-D

But yeah, after that we all walked home......got the traditional kebab that we alwasy get on the way back when I venture out with my parents.......I really need to go out with them more, I have a lot of fun when I'm with them.......although for some reason this was the first night in ages that I got ID'd......which is fine as I am legal to drink and had my driving licence on me, but still how is it when I'm out with them I get ID'd but when I'm out with my friend no one asks?!?!

Here's an attempted pic that my mum took of me in the Bull.........it's far too dark for any pictures in there, unless you have flash on your camera......

Well that's it.....hope you liked it

Chains and a Night out

Ok, well this was fridays post.......sorry I've had some late nights again......

But yeah, I was in the life drawing room for the entire day again.......although I was looking at the colour wheel, with how different secondary and primary colours work together......also how emotive colours can be.......for an example and so I don't sound like I'm making this up, I'm posting a painting that I did in the life drawing room......

Well, this is one of the paintings that I did......these two particular poses are Virginity and Fertility.........I made a ground colour of green for this, as Virginity is an emotive word to Blue and Fertility is an emotive word to Red and both colours are connected to green.........As Blue, Yellow and Green are both placed together within the colour wheel, these were the main colours that I used to show the model in her virginity pose......then, for the Fertility pose - as the main colour was Red, I used Yellow, Green, Orange and Blue - Green was used as it contrasts with Red, Orange because it is a result of Yellow and Red and Blue because Blue can be mixed with Red within the wheel.........
Also, the two different poses are placed over each other to see how that would effect the piece. I'm rather pleased with them, but then again I enjoy using random colours rather than the actual colours when painting or drawing anyway......my teachers were really impressed as they said it looked like I was sculpting the model in my paintings and rather than making her flat I showed her as a mass of moving muscles - not the nicest thing to call the model ^_^;; but a compliments a compliment, I explained how i didn't use a brush but painted with my hands and fingers and how I found colours easier to use than the normal skin tones - my teachers were really pleased and called me a 'colourist', I'm not sure if they made that name up but I like it.....it's nice to know that you're not just strange sometimes =_=;;

Anyway, for today I was in a blue and white polka dot dress with my white netting top underneath and a BIG black cardigan on with my jeans and black and white pointed shoes......unfortunately I was getting myself covered in paint, so the only time I could get a picture was in the morning and that was only of my face......sorry ^_^;; But yeah it's a pretty simple design of a chain with a blue bow, a pearl and a bronze heart....

Glitter eyeliner by Eyeko, Bronze colour is done by using eye shadow then covering with gold glitter eyeliner, blue is No.5 Eyeliner and black is just black eyeliner.....

Ok, so I went out that night......as you can see I changed the design on my face completely.....I also drew on two other peoples faces, although only one was planned and the other was me simply trying to fix an attempt that went wrong........This is me and my friend Lucy.....

Here's the design I did for her......she originally wanted a Cherub, which is fine by me but it wouldn't have gone with her outfit so I suggested that I copy the flower pattern on her new dress from Very.co.uk.......luckily she agreed.....I was really chuffed with how it turned out, especially as she liked it!! XD

There were big silver lotus flowers on her dress with smaller bluer ones.....admittedly I coloured one of the flowers pink, but that was to change to colours around and make it a bit more different......I made a few petals fall and added some vines.....

Here was the unplanned one......Lucy decided to draw an Ank on Tom's face......but it looked like a stick man that had a bad back and lost a few limbs (I'm not being horrible that is the most exact that I can describe it!)
So I took the eyeliner and bulked it out until it looked even.....unfortunately that made it bigger than it should have looked, but did allow me to point the ends and allow it an old fashioned cross look......

Hopefully he will never have this done for real as it doesn't suit him, but luckily it sorted it out and made it look like an Ank at least.......so yeah, for once there is a male on here with face art (I have been avoiding asking any male friends incase it didn't work...)

Yeah, here we are acting cool.......if only you knew.....

Ok, so now finally I shall explain what's on MY face.....heck, it's not like this is MY blog or anything huh? XD
But yeah, three connecting chains, holding a diamond, a sliver cross with blue stone and a pearl......
Once again I've used black eyeliner, Glitter eyeliner by Eyeko and Blue eyeliner from No.5

Hope you like it.........
Sorry it's late everyone........hopefully I can keep on top of it one day! ^_^;;

flower trim

Right......well here's todays!!!

Tada! Told ya I'd only leave you alone for a day......well, here's a special one as I ended up having a catch up with one of my oldest friends and she ended up turning into an interviewer with the questions she asked! XD Ah I've missed you Lanny, I'm really pleased you found my blog.....

Well here she is and she was my photographer for today! Heh, Leanne James an amazing textiles student who does costume work.......who has also told me that her dear brother has been reading this, so 'Hi Anthony, long time no see!' :-P

Well, here is a few areas of conversation that I found very entertaining during our coffees (Yes that is as in plural coffee's as it was so cold we ended up going into 3 different coffee shops!)

Ok, Question one was from Anthony- It was something like, how do you not smudge your face?

Good Question!! heh, well ok so everyone rests their face in their hands during the day it's one of those random things that we do normally.....I actually only rest my chin on my hand, which was a habit that I taught myself for such reasons as to not ruin my make up! Also if it's only on one side of my face, I normally will put the plain side of my face in my hand......
Plus, you don't forget that it's on your face so smudging is very rare - best way to explain is to use an example like if you never take off certain items of jewellery, you know they're there and naturally do things differently so as to not harm it, also you know straight away when they're not there anymore (yes I can actually tell now when a drawing on my face is starting to disappear in areas =_=;; )
It also helps with the type of eyeliner that you use.....for example the brand that I used to use would smudge really easily, especially if it got wet from rain etc, where as the eyeliner that I use now turns into a kind of plastic once I've put it on.....so it doesn't smudge and it won't run when wet, but as it turns into a plasticy material if you do by any chance touch it it will roll with the movement and simply rub off - so different eyeliners have different pro's and con's as far as staying perfect is concerned.....

Next Question - How long does it take me?

Ok, well......the longest time taken during this is when I'm working out what to do if I'm honest.....once I know what to do all I need is a mirror and I can do it in about 5mins, but if I had to do it on someone elses face it would probably take me longer like 15mins give or take......I don't know why, I mean I realise I'm wierd in the fact that I can look in a mirror and work out how to reverse the image for my face which really does speed up the process, but there are some that take longer even with that fact making it easier (art nouveau woman for instance - takes longer as it was an entire person)

Third Question - What was the most fun to draw so far?

Easy! Heartless knight everytime! (so far, that might change as I keep going!) It took me a few minutes, the colours are simple and it was the most fun to draw as I love the character design.....plus it probably helps that I had an awesome night out with that on my face with 3 friends....

Fourth and Final Question - What has been your favourite design so far?

My mask......the artist that inspired me is amazing, the way it looked once I'd finished was fantastic! I really enjoyed doing it as it was a complete on the spot design and the lace detail underneath really worked once I'd filled it with Glitter eyeliner by Eyeko......

Ok, enough questions for the day....here I am....dress from Oasis, top underneath from Topshop, necklace by Primark, Jeans from Dot P's and my boots that you can't see are Knee high riding boots....

As you can see I used the design of the lace trim on the neck of the dress for my eye desing....

Just a simple one for today, but it had a great effect.......I like doing things like this, as believe it or not drawing straight or curved lines on my face is very easy for me (not a clue why!) plus it had a kind of fan look about it.......I did almost carry it over my eye, but I desided to leave it as an under eye design for the effect of placing lace as a trim....

Well that's it for today I'm afraid m'dears! Hope you all liked it.......please if you have a question, don't ask it through people or stay silent, I do this because I enjoy it and find it easy - that doesn't mean I'll laugh at you if you want to know something, so if there's a question you want to ask just leave a comment and I'll get back to you hopefully with something that you understand! :)

Dark day....

Hi everyone.....well as promised no matter what yesterdays blog is being posted!! Heh plus, I feel soooooo much better from getting an early night yesterday so thanks for not complaining!! ^_^;; But yeah......so lets get started...
Welp, today I had lectures.....which normally I don't have a problem with but this one got me really annoyed......I don't know why, but for the entire lecture I just kept thinking that the theory made no sense what so ever......heh I'll explain, the basic idea was that once the author wrote something the author died and the writing lived, so basically the author should remain anonimous as they had no right to be authorative and take over your expectations of the piece of literature or art........I can understand that with some things and I guess the best way to describe my take on it is for example a piece of music by Elgar - once you know it's by elgar you already have a good idea that it's going to have polyphonic parts (not sure if I spelt that right :S) so there will be loads of different lines of music playing different things to the other - which would lead you to already realise that what ever this piece was it would be difficult to get right on a first try.....so by knowing it's elgar, if the piece was actually a simple monophonic work you'd be really surprised and probably disappointed by it (although I'm not sure that you'd listen to elgar if it disappointed you....) But yeah......so I can understand it from that point of view, but there are (once again looking at it from a music point of view) a lot of works that I've found out the composer and that hasn't affected how I've taken the music at all! But yeah, apparently I should look at it more from an art and literature point of view, but whenever they argued with me this was the only way I could explain how confused I was.......
So rather than stay confused I've written down two books that the person in question wrote and I'm going to buy them and read them for the fact that I want to understand where he's coming from so that the next time we talk about this I'll actually be able to contribute to the lecture with a decent and fair arguement rather than just rambling on and on about experiences with music ^_^;;

So yeah.....already not a great start, but my friend Carlene was determined to cheer me up so we went round town after doing some more work.....

Well this was my outfit for the day......yes I know my shoes look like slippers, but I could only find my orange socks =_=;; But yeah, tis a jumper dress from Topshop, a t-shirt dress underneath by H&M, jeans from Dot P's, shoes by Draven from Office (where I'm standing ;-P ), bag from River Island, Gloves River Island, Hat from River Island, Cross belonged to my mum ages ago before she let me have it......it's made from a fork!! XD

Ok, well I'm a BIG comic fan........I actually have the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman, but I haven't read them in ages as I had to store all my comics away (yes I own enough different comics to have to find storage space for them =_=;; ) BUT!!! I found my sandman comics again today......so yeah, first idea that popped into my head was Lady Death!!! She's soooo cool, although I've noticed that my fringe is kinda like Deliriums hair.....this made my dad laugh actually today as he noticed that as well.....I do love delirium, but lady death has very cool make up.......so yeah I attempted what actually looks like gothy style make up.....which normally I'm terrible at, hence I was actually quite pleased with this!

Ok so here's the right eye.....the reason I say I'm bad at gothy stuffs is because normally it all has to be symmetrical, which I can do with most things on my face - except for curls and curves - as I can never get them to match equally.....drawing the eyelashes on my face and getting them to match, heck yeah I can do that, but the whole dragging the line down your nose and black tears down your cheeks.....well yeah, I'll leave them to the proffesional goth wearers!
But yeah just ordinary black eyeliner......
the curl is only on the right eye because she has an egyptian look to that one, because obviously she's been around for AGES.......the ank (if I've spelt it wrong then sorry!) is because she always has one round her neck......

yeah.....the entire black is eyeliner, but as eyeliner cracks during the day I covered it while still wet in black eye shadow too so that it all cakes and stays on the eye without smudging or colouring the top of the eye......a trick I learnt in sixth form with glitter liquid eyeshadows.....

tried to make it as even as possible....

tada!! See the reason why I normally avoid such looks.....as cool as I thought I looked today, I knew that I'd mucked up the left eye =_= but yeah, at least I tried and now I can only get better! XD

My shoes to prove that they're not slippers and to show that they are awesome! XD They're actually a size too long for my feet, but believe me the actual size that I should wear was for some reason too tight! I haven't a clue why, but for that fact they make my feet look extremely LONG......hence I don't wear them often as if I bump into my nan she says 'Why are you wearing your flippers?' XD Which is an awesome confidence boost!!

My awesome cross/ank......it is seriously made of a fork and is awesome, although for some reason ages ago a random person in the street asked if I was religious.......strange question and one I didn't answer as he would have probably just come up with something else to ask me.......

I love this necklace.....it's just awesome! XD

But yeah.......that was yesterdays blog, hope it was worth the wait! xxxxx

cross and curls

I feel ill so I might just do yesterdays blog tonight as I'm not much up to doing both that and todays........sorry, just don't feel up to doing it, I will have todays posted tomorrow though with my apologese and tomorrows brand spanking new post ;)

So yeah......yesterday was tuesday, so here's tuesdays blog......

Ok well, I found an awesome range of clothes that are brand new styles that are made from old vintage materials! They are very cool and extremely pretty......but then again I love some materials that were used ages ago.....so there was no doubt that I'd like these :)

This is one of my favourites......I haven't a clue why but it's really pretty

Another favourite.....but then again I like dresses in this shape......always lovely to look at...

The company behind the new stuffs made of old.......Reworked Vintage.......please check them out, it's a really cool idea and I bet you'll find something awesome by them.....

Ah yes my new panda hat....my nan got me this, so it's extremely awesome to me! heh it's covered in sequins and has holes for the eyes.....oh and pom poms for the ears.....

and my new gloves because I get cold so easily.....gotta love how cute things look when they are teddy bears.....

Another find!!

Aren't they brilliant!! I always get annoyed at jewellery as it all looks the same and normally is, just brought back out in a different colour scheme or size =_=;; but these are all really different and very cute!

I love the huge black earrings there....they look like lace but with huge black gems on......soooooo preetty!!

ah yes the genius that creates these......do check out hannahmakesthings.com it's definitely worth a gander for all these sparklies :-D

Ok, so today is less about my face and more about my wish list of things.....but I was bored and kept finding things, so deal with it.......but yeah aren't these brilliant?!?! I love old fashioned shoes, especially boots with buckles or victorian looking shoes with a heel......

heh not quite victorian but they'll do......ah I wish they had a brighter colour as well......then you could get a plain colour to go with normal clothing and a brighter colour for more go outy or bright outfits.......why do companies never think of this.....

AHHHH!!! I WANT THESE SOOOOOO BADLY!!! XD I actually collect Harajuku Lovers perfume.....sounds sad but I love the different scents and the different personalities of the dolls......I have the originals, the winter ones and the summer ones.....these are the latest ones....showing styles ranging from a decora, to lolita, to classic lolita etc........sooooo cool and the bright hair is covered in felt so they are really soft too!! :)

Ok, face time......well something simple today.....just curls on the right and then on the left curls and a cross hanging from one......kind of like the old signs you see outside buildings sometimes - where the beam they hang from has loads of curls and embellishments.....

for some reason all the shadow has made my face rather.....um patchy in colour? :S  Ah well........it's all black except the filling of the cross which is Glitter by Eyeko.....

see the hair is great for hiding the odd curls!! XD not that I mind them showing, I just find it funny that I put in effort and then you can't even see it......still at least the cross is visible......

well that's all for today.......like I said.....not particularly feeling well, so you'll forgive me for todays being late and being posted tomorrow I'm sure.......hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow......
cheers for reading xxxx
